The Australian Winter. Warm outside, cold inside. The exact opposite of what our good old European winters are like.
When I moved here, for the first time, it was shocking. 13 degrees in the bedroom, and there is no hope that anything would warm you up. No central heating, the walls were made of wood, no double glazing, no insulation. Just plain, freezing cold.
2 winters ago, it was so shocking, I cried. And I wanted to stay in bed all day. The hopelessness was the worst part of it. Dougal called me a primadonna, which did not help to feel any better either. He encouraged me as well though, saying, I would get used to it over time.
And he was right. I have, somehow, very surprisingly got over the first shock and got familiar with items I never knew they had existed. Hot water bottle, flannel pyjamas, ugg boots.
Delete13 degrees???? I'm cold if it is 20 degrees....
