Last weekend a little dream of mine came true. Every girl wants to be a shop owner at one point of her life, right? Selling things, chatting to customers, giving advice, helping to find the best match for their needs. Well, never say never, I became a 'shop owner' for 3 hours last Sunday.
The quarter-yearly Baby and Kids Market was organized in our little town, where parents can get rid of their un-used and un-wanted kids stuff, while other parents can get some real bargains.
My main goal was to say good bye to a change table, that we only used for 3 weeks while Dougal's parents visited us when Izzie was 4 weeks old, and we needed something in our bedroom to change her nappies during the nights. For the last year I have been watching this change table in my bedroom, gathering dust, piles of books and magazines, jumpers, pillows, phone chargers...
I was so happy, it went in the first 5 minutes.
I had a stall with a friend from the Mothers Group, and we managed to make some money while we got rid of some of the clutter in our houses. It feels so liberating as well.
The clever economist (and the one, who knows me) would ask, oh well, it sounds great, but how much did you spend and how much more did you bring back home? I was a really good girl, I only bought a wooden toy and one little summer dress. Both for $3. They were bargains, aren't they? x
Edit: Dougal just said that this was the most boring post he had ever read on a blog. Hahaha!
